The 30-year US Treasury yield recently climbed above 5.3 percent, reaching its highest level in nearly two decades, while the 10-year yield approached 4.8 percent.

The Nasdaq Composite gained 0.44% to reach 26,180.45 points. On 2026-04-12, the S&P 500 gained 0.43% to close at 7,674, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 0.43% to 26,180 points, ending the week down 1.43% and 2.05% respectively.

The yield on the 10-year Treasury note rose to 4.69% on 2026-08-20, rebounding despite the Treasury's efforts to lower longer-term borrowing costs. The Federal Reserve maintained the federal funds target range at 3.50 per cent to 3.75 per cent at its July meeting due to solid economic activity and inflation above its 2 per cent target.
